"You can call me to find where the hoods at, And for a small price I'll find you a hood rat"- The Hood Theme Song

Smarty Pants was born in the early 80s in the Bronx of New York City. He developed a passion for hip-hop music from listening to his mother's collection of rap records that included everything from Doug E. Fresh, Special Ed to MC Hammer. Growing up Smarty listened to rap music to help forget about the tough times he experienced in his at home and in his neighborhood. By the early nineties he decided to start writing rhymes to express himself through hip-hop and began dreaming of one day having the whole world hear his music.

"Aww my flow so raw wit it, D*#k long you can play tug of war wit it"- They Call Me

As Smarty became a teenager in the mid 90s his family decided to move him out to the suburbs of Teaneck, New Jersey. This is where he began to start developing his rap skills by collaborating and battling the others rappers in his high school. Using comedic wordplay and sarcastic punch lines, he developed his own signature style to make sure he was original and didn't sound like any one else. He soon started to become locally known and began to record demos, enter talent shows, and even did public access music videos to help him get exposure.

"Girls like guys wit good heads on they shoulders, Guys like girls wit good head then its over"- Go In, Go Out

He began to feature on local mix-tapes and magazines creating a strong buzz in the underground scene. He has been featured on various radio shows including XM satellite's hip-hop radio show hosted by one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJ Chuck Chillout. He has also opened up for various major acts including Mr. Cheeks and continues to tour around the United States performing at many clubs and colleges.
